Brian Austin Green is defending a "Love is Blind" Season 6 cast member facing backlash for saying she's been told she resembles Megan Fox.
In a E! News interview that aired Monday, the "Beverly Hills, 90210" star ― who was married to Fox for a decade before they split in 2020 ― reacted to a clip of "Love is Blind's" Chelsea telling Jimmy, her soon-to-be fiancé, about her celebrity lookalike.
"It's crazy," Green said. "I've had it before, where people go, 'Hey you kind of look like so-and-so.' And to me, watching that, that's all she was doing. She doesn't know; she's on a show called 'Love Is Blind'. She's never done anything like this before."
He continued, "To her, I'm sure it felt really good when people were like, 'You kind of look like Megan' ... so she shared it. But she shared it in a format where millions of people are watching and are judging her for it."
Green, who is now engaged to his "Dancing with the Stars" Season 30 partner Sharna Burgess, elaborated on the comparison in an interview with TMZ posted Saturday.
"You live and learn. That's probably not the best thing to say on a show called 'Love is Blind,' because it seems like you're opening yourself up to criticism. I do think people should cut her some slack," he said.
After being told Chelsea reached out to Fox with remorse, he speculated that "Megan would be flattered," and said an apology is unnecessary.
When pressed on similarities between the women, Green said, "I mean, she has brown hair, blue eyes, right?"
"Megan is a very one-of-a-kind beauty. It's why a lot of people say she's possibly the most beautiful woman in the world. She has a very incredible look to her," he told TMZ. "So that's a tough comparison, I think, for anyone to make. Stay in your lane, Chelsea. Keep your head up. Don't listen to everybody else. Be proud of yourself and move on.
Chelsea addresses backlash to her Megan Fox comparison comment
To her credit, Chelsea has taken fans' reactions in stride as she regularly posts updates on social media. "Go on a show for love > get your butt dragged through the trenches," Chelsea captioned a Feb. 21 TikTok.
In another TikTok, the 31-year-old flight attendant said, "This would be a great time for the people who have ever told me that I resembled (Megan Fox) to come forward. Please, I'm begging you." She laughed as she finished her message.
"It was such a silly comment that was made," she previously told E! News. "This was a five-hour date and it just kind of came out. And just before that, (Jimmy) was telling me he looks like Christian McCaffrey."
"I reached out to Megan," she added. "And I just apologized to her, like, 'I'm so sorry I included you in this mess.'"
The Megan Fox moment came in Episode 2, after she asked Jimmy, "Do you ever get told you look like a celebrity?"
"I do, too, all the time on the plane. I get one person. And it's just because I have dark hair and blue eyes," she said. "But I don't see it, so don't get excited."
"It's — I don't know if it's (Machine Gun Kelly's) wife or his girlfriend," Chelsea told Jimmy.
"Megan Fox?" Jimmy asked in disbelief. "You're saying you look like Megan Fox?"

Jimmy doesn't think Chelsea looks like Megan Fox
Several fans of the Netflix show have also supported Chelsea by backing her up, agreeing she looks like a younger version of the actress.
Meanwhile, Jimmy has doubled down on his disagreement with the lookalike claim in a recent Access Hollywood interview.
"I still, personally, don't think she looks like Megan Fox. But I think she's beautiful nonetheless," he told the outlet.
In Episode 5, after the couple met each other for the first time, Jimmy shared his reaction to Chelsea's appearance in a one-on-one interview.
"She definitely lied to me on how she looked," he said. "Chelsea told me she looks like Megan Fox. But at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. I'm very attracted to her. I can work with that."
