Here's a perfect match for National Donut Day: Dunkin' and country music star Jelly Roll.
Ahead of National Donut Day, which is Friday, June 7, the performer and the donut-and-coffee chain dropped a video on Instagram and TikTok Thursday during which Jelly Roll talks about donuts and his affinity for Dunkin'.
Dunkin' had previously announced you can get a free classic donut of your choice on Friday with the purchase of any beverage, while supplies last.
The video begins with Jelly Roll being summoned for a National Donut Day video shoot. "Everybody always asks me how I got the name Jelly Roll," he says in the video. "Believe it or not, the truth is it's because of these little guys right here."
"Growing up donuts were truly my kryptonite," Jelly Roll goes on to say. "My momma used to tell me all the time that I was so sweet I could open up my own Dunkin'."

The breakout country-rock-rap star then demonstrates a couple ways to dunk donuts, introduces his dog and finishes saying, "Happy National Donut Day, y'all. Grab a donut, enjoy the rest of your day and remember, life's better with a little jelly in it, baby."
Armed with a Dunkin' box packed with a dozen donuts, Jelly Roll is seen eating only on bite of a jelly-filled donut. That may be because he's watching his weight – Jelly Roll recently talked about losing 70 pounds and his increased desire for health as he and wife Bunnie XO seek to have another baby.
New Dunkin, Jelly Roll merchandise for National Donut Day
Another treat for fans of Dunkin' and Jelly Roll: there's a line of new limited-edition merchandise becoming available Thursday at noon ET on ShopDunkin.com. The collection includes a pink "Jelly" hoodie ($40) and a "Grab a Glazed" hoodie ($40) that was seen worn by Ben Affleck during the "Popstar" commercial that ran during the Grammys.
Among the new T-shirts available are Donut Tees ($30) inspired by concert T-shirts.
“National Donut Day is a special day for us because it’s all about celebrating that love and obsession," Dunkin' vice president of category management Beth Turenne said in a statement. "Plus, we get to share that joy by giving away millions of free donuts.”
